At The Nanny Collective, we take pride in connecting families with experienced, professional nannies who meet high industry standards.

To ensure the highest standards of childcare, all nannies applying to The Nanny Collective must meet the following criteria:
✅ At least 2 years of professional childcare experience
This can include nannying, nursery work, or other formal childcare roles.

✅ Fully verifiable references
At least two references from previous childcare employers.
​
✅ A valid DBS check
If you do not have one, you must be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS certificate.
​
✅ Paediatric First Aid certification
A valid, up-to-date First Aid certificate (or willingness to complete training).
​
✅ Right to work in the UK
All candidates from abroad must hold a valid visa or work permit.
​
✅ Professionalism & reliability
We expect our nannies to be trustworthy, responsible, and committed to providing excellent care.

✅ A genuine love for children
Beyond qualifications, we look for nannies who are passionate about nurturing, educating, and supporting children’s development.

Do You Need Qualifications to Be a Nanny?
In the UK, there are no legal requirements for formal qualifications to work as a nanny. However, many families and agencies prefer nannies who have relevant training and certifications. Gaining the right qualifications can make you stand out and increase your job opportunities.
Recommended Qualifications:
✔ Certificate or Diploma in Childcare and Education

✔ Level 3 Diploma in Home-Based Childcare

✔ Voluntary OFSTED Childcare Register (OCR) Certification

✔ Paediatric First Aid Certification
Additional Requirements:

Alongside qualifications, it’s important to have:
✅ DBS Check (Disclosure and Barring Service) – A background check to ensure you’re suitable for working with children.
✅ Public Liability Insurance – Provides financial protection in case of accidents while working as a nanny.
